There is little doubt that one firm still rules the capital markets roost. However, others are starting to worry its lead in the practice area, as evidenced by Legally India’s exclusive analysis this week.

In IPOs Amarchand has roughly double the deal count of rivals, but Luthra has grown its footprint over the last year and AZB’s rainmakers have noticeably thrown its considerable weight behind capital markets. Meanwhile, among international firms DLA has made an aggressive debut in the rankings coming in at number 1 out of nowhere.

QIPs tell a similar story: Amarchand followed by Luthra, while outside of India Jones Day held on to the prime slot, followed by Dorseys and DLA, again.

Meanwhile, Talwar Thakore is first out of the blocks with salary raises across the board, also now breaking that magical, psychological barrier of Rs 10 lakh per annum for freshers.

Today, Nalsar has duked it out in the finals of the ICC Trial Moot in The Hague over live video webcast – final confirmed results anticipated shortly.
