Symbiosis Pune won the 7th Pro Bono Enviro National Moot, NLU Delhi picked up a citation at Germany in the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) moot and NLU Jodhpur lodged a rank in the 32nd John Marshall Moot at Chicago this weekend.
But NLIU Bhopal gathered the same number of points as Symbiosis from its two citations at the Pro Bono moot and maintained its Herbert Smith Freehills sponsored Mooting Premiere League (MPL) Season 5 lead.
Symbiosis’ Samarth Khanna, Risha Sharma and Abhilasha Sharma clinched the tier 5 Pro Bono victory at SOEL Chennai. Khanna said: “It was a brilliant problem. It involved constitution, all environment legislations such as Environment Protection Act 1986, CRZ notifications, Indian forest act, forest conservation, passing directions of National Green Tribunal, and international conventions as well. It was an exhaustive problem.”
Pro Bono runners up NLIU also picked up the best memorial citation, docketing an equal number of points as Symbiosis at the moot. NLIU is now leading the MPL 5 league table with 65 points. Symbiosis sits in 19th place.
FDI: NLU D
NLU Delhi’s team of Aditya Singha, Dhruv Gautam and Ryan Azmi submitted the best memorial for the claimants at the tier 5 international FDI moot in Frankfurt, Germany, where NLU Jodhpur broke into the quarter final rounds.
John Marshall: NLU J
NLU Jodhpur’s Akshita Alok, Divya Mehra and Rathin Somnath won the Ambassador Rounds at the John Marshall moot in Information Technology and Privacy Law.
Delhi has stuck to second place in the league table while Jodhpur is at number nine.

Your comment itself shows the standard of mooting that you have been exposed to. FYI, an honorary mention is given to the top 9 oralists only. It might be difficult to understand for a domestic, local mooter like yourself, but out there, you compete with teams from Harvard and oxford with the best of arbitrators judging you. Precisely the reason why honorary mentions are quite difficult to get.
Funny to see that 'honorary mentions' are mere consolation prizes for you. Any person, who has even done one decent international moot and faced the competition out there, will never make such a statement. No one is asking you to equate it with a win, or reaching the semi's, you're immature if you interpret it that way. Honorary mentions have been rewarded in the past in MPL. and so should they be, this time also. That's it.
It's not as easy as the '2nd or 3rd best speaker' award in a national moot. Its difficult and someone like you won't understand it. So leave it. All the best LI with your closed mindset. Still keeping the best upcoming moots in the world like Frankfurt Arbitartion, FDI, etc in Tier 5, when they are already treated as Tier 2 in universities worldwide. Get out of the 5 year old book. Look around ! Things have changed.
We ORGANISED Surana Tech. Moot (We did not participate). Since, it is a Tier 4 moot, kindly give us the marks for the same.
Secondly, Arvind Manoharan (Best Speaker, Rizvi) is from SYMBIOSIS LAW SCHOOL, PUNE and not Noida. Please rectify these mistakes ASAP.
Would love to see them perform in Tier 1 moots too.
Keep it up!

Pro Bono for example, compromis has been superb since its very inception..so has been the judging! I think with Chennai hosting the Madras University and the High Court and with people like Prof. Ambrose round, judging at Pro Bono is bound to be good. Also, the moot is now 7 years old...and I guess the prizes is also high.
