Insider trading in India cannot be stopped. It can only be reduced by very aggressive policing by the authorities using covert tactics as seen in the Gupta case.

SEBI's current stand on insider trading is good. Leave things to the discretion of a regulator (without black and white rules), and they will just do a shoddy job, show favouritism, or take bribes.
