good luck to amarchand and to aseem. krishnan probably needs the most luck as it cannot be easy to inherit that practice in the form it is in. also, to be fair, from macro-perspective, it is hard for law firm tax practices to compete with big 4 tax practices.

"... specialises in direct tax, cross border taxation and alternate dispute resolution"

How could he have gained disputes experience while at KPMG even if he holds a law degree? CAs are not allowed to advise on disputes when they are practising as CAs, and accountancy firms cannot advise clients on contentious matters (or any other legal aspect for that matter - unless such work is expressly allowed by law e.g. some company law and tax law work).

This just shows how accountancy firms are blatantly flouting the law and offering legal advise, when foreign firms are treading cautiously. Some accountants seem to have no regard for law and rules as the Enron (and some other) scams show.

SOMEONE SHOULD FILE A PIL.
