NLS triple-alum Sarasu Esther Thomas takes over as interim registrar post-Nandimath ‘exceptional support’

Prof Sarasu Esther Thomas has been appointed as the new interim registrar at NLSIU Bangalore, to succeed Prof OV Nandimath who resigned in the last week.

Thomas takes charge from today for a period of up to one year, subject to the permanent registrar appointment after following the full administrative procedures.

She is a 1995 LLB, 1999 LLM and 2008 PhD from NLSIU Bangalore, and has been a member of faculty at NLS since 1997.

She became assistant professor in 1999, and associate professor in 2012.

In Thomas’ appointment order, vice chancellor Sudhir Krishnaswamy wrote:

I thank Prof OV Nandimath for his nearly 7 years of service, and his exceptional support over the last 5 days, and look forward to his guidance and counsel in the years ahead.

I wish Prof. Sarasu Esther Thomas all the best and look forward to working with her to bring fresh energy and ideas to the NLSIU community.
