Nalsar Hyderabad placed 41 students on Day Zero of campus placements for its LLB class of 2017, with all the “Big Seven” firms except JSA, foreign firms Allen & Overy, Linklaters and Herbert Smith Freehills, and five other recruiters.

Pre-placement offers (PPO) made up for the maximum source of jobs on offer – 23.

Big Seven

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas hired the most number of students (10) out of all recruiters, followed by Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (6), Luthra & Luthra (5), Trilegal (4), AZB & Partners (3) and Khaitan & Co (2).

Foreign firms

Two students each bagged A&O’s and Linklaters’ vacation schemes, and one bagged Herbert Smith’s.

Others

S&R Associates and Nishith Desai Associates were the other big law firms to participate in the 6 April Day Zero. Finsec law Advisors and Zehn Legal were the smaller firms. JM Financial was the only company.

Some recruitment season this has been. Congratulations to the batch of 2017. Barely anyone without a job it seems.

S&R and NDA gave PPOs and they didn't participate in Day Zero.

These are very good figures, congratulations! I think NALSAR can overtake NLS in the next 10 years if it frames some good strategies.

Leave NALSAR overtaking NLSIU. if more batches similar to that of present first year come, DSNLU OR RML will overtake NALSAR. Only strategy is taking care of cocky boys.

Personally i think the present first years were a very interesting batch to say the least. But if only placements are your concern they have way better GPA's compared to any batches. So, you can take out your frustrations elsewhere and not blame the first years :)
With warm regards

Absolutely, cooking up false and outrageous allegations against seniors, beating up a batchmate for not sharing notes are very interesting, probably because they are uncharacteristic of another other batch and unprecedented in the history of NALSAR. Only time will tell how much of that unfounded arrogance is actually justified, and now that they will be in their second year, that time has never been nearer.

"BEATING UP" hahahaha. Being a law student one would expect you to go through the veracity of such allegations before making it such a big issue like there have never been any intra and inter- batch fights between other batches(leading by example). As for the allegations and complaints against seniors, please, everyone knows its only one or two people. So why this wide spread generalization? But as you say, only time will tell.
P.S: I'm not defending anyone but we hate the widespread generalizations and also there is NO truth in those allegations.

Goodness!! Dear NALSAR seniors and first years - get a room or a stadium. Stop bitching about hostel politics on a national forum. These conflicts/camaraderie/fights/making-outs/crushes/break-ups/CGPAs/Os/Fs are part and parcel of any hostel life and growing up. Even more shameful for a senior batch as they should be the one looking out for the juniors.

Meri baat man, jaa ke daru pee. Sab theek ho jaayega!!

I totally agree with Venky @ BH gate. We have seen behaviour of these guys many times. If they change, it would be good for them. I am not blaming the entire batch, there are at least 10-20 people because of whom the batch may suffer.

Excellent Job Batch of 2017! Congratulations!
Legally India / Prachi: Why does this article not show name of members of RCC 2017? Please update the same! Don’t deviate from NALSAR traditions!

It isn't just a NALSAR tradition- all other colleges also do it.
The NALSAR RCC was- Enakshi Jha, Aishwarya Ramanan, Eshwar Ramachandran, Srimukundan, Kartik Chawla, Yugal Jain, and P.S.S Bhargava.

The ICC (which should get some recognition seeing that there were 23 PPOS even if they were not responsible for all of them) was Enakshi Jha, Yugal Jain, Pranav Verma, Pranahita S, Devarshi M, Bhargava P.S.S, Shreenath Khemka

Kian, should also probably do a story on how many of these recruits survive in Big Law after a year, this could be an analysis out of campus recruits of the top colleges. Nalsarites have the maximum attrition , they keep moving jobs and eventually either give up law altogether or move out from the law firm brigade. Lets see industry-wide, how many Big Law partners are from Nalsar

Its true that the NALSAR attrition rates are high from big law, but you must see that it is nalsariites who are also doing very interesting alternative professions after gaining from what corporate law has to offer.

There may not be a large number of NALSAR Partners in big law firms, but there are a large number of nalsariites who work for themselves, have smaller establishments (not necessarily a law firm, corporate or litigation) and have some interesting work being done.

I dont think this should reflect on the quality of nalsar students/professionals. It rather states confidence i would think to leave a steady big law job and venture into something new.

You must also doa study of now nalsariites are doing amazingly well in their alternative fields and have not had a thought of returning to big law.

And this comes from a nalsar alum in a Big Corporate Law Firm.
Can somebody confirm? 2 Jun 2016, 08:04

Can someone confirm the pay these students were offered?
I hear highest package was quoted by CAM? Khaitan paid the highest no? Atleast that's what I thought. CAM is emerging as a market leader in terms of pay too!

NDA still pays 10?
SAM at 15?

Can someone throw some light?
