The Bar Council of India extended the deadline for submission of the application form for the now postponed 9 December AIBE.
The notification for postponement of the AIBE to 9 December now reads:
It is to notify that, due to unavoidable reason, Muharram and several requests received from candidates, the date of All India Bar Examination is extended to 9th December, 2012. The Exam would now be held on 9th December, 2012. Accordingly, last date for submission of application form and deposit of examination fee is also extended upto 15th November, 2012 and last date for receipt of duly filled in application form in the office of the Bar Council of India is extended upto 20th November, 2012. It is clarified that in no case application forms received in the office of the Bar Council of India after 20th November, 2012 be accepted. [BCI]

How is this a "maybe 20 nov"
LI... what dumb noobs are you hiring???
Out of curiosity, what is your interpretation?
Best wishes,
Prachi
Regret the earlier harsh comment, I understand where you are coming from and its an easy mistake.
The process is such that - submit fees & chalan in SBI branch->sumbit form online->print out the reigstration slip of app form(much like app form) and send it to BCI office along with hard copies of supporting docs. This is actually a pseudo online process, I fail to understand how it is benefiting any person AIBE or the lawyer.
So the date for the last process, i.e. that is BCI receiving the hard copies and hard copy of registration slip is 20th Nov
and date of submitting App form Online is 15th Nove, after which a registration slip is generated. BCI screwed with referring "app form" instead of "registration slips and supporting docs" in the stating last date for second process, but trust me that is their intention and one can clearly see its merely a nincompoop mistake by BCI and I DOUBT they will not accept submission of online forms after 15th NOV. Hope that clarifies for the benefit of all.
Correction- I DOUBT they will accept submission of online forms after TODAY.

What's wrong with the site! I could not even access my AIBE account!
Site is still down as of Tuesday am.
Prachi Madame, why are you not covering this? The AIBE is the BCI's principal show of upgrading standards for Indian lawyers. We all recognize the missteps. Don't anger the BCI by simply rendering commentary. Keep them honest by reporting factually the ups and downs of the AIBE process.
Consider physically visiting the company that is allegedly running the site and see if it actually exists, what kind of company is there, how large it appears. Establish ground rules with the BCI that you will call and ask them about the AIBE prep on a regular basis. Do a post chronicling the challenging logistics of giving the AIBE across India and in multiple languages. We call this "reporting." Every blogger should try it once in a while!
The exam is a critical gateway to practice for tens of thousands of people across the country, people who will become habituated to consulting LegallyIndia if you become the go-to source for AIBE info.
Look at Gawker's series of unemployment stories and do something analogous here. Invite readers to write their AIBE anecdotes - maybe choose three - and have them write a graph once or twice a week about their prep, their challenges supporting themselves in this ambiguous state of being a half-lawyer, their challenges even registering for the test. There are many fairly easy ways to cover this important story without unduly pissing off the thin-skinned BCI folks.
Are you kidding me man... finding loopholes, collecting anecdotes, This entire process is one big f**king loophole... if LI starting collecting anecdotes of AIBE miseries, it would go into volumes.
Ofcourse LI could help us all by covering notifications, information etc.. but one can't serious blame or expect LI to follow up with complete incompetence. As far as the think skin of BCI is confused, don't worry they are chaired by convicted screwups with your future being the last thing in their mind.
