Trilegal has promoted its Bangalore-based employment law counsel Swarnima to partner, according to the firm’s press release.
She is a 2009 GNLU Gandhinagar graduate who had begun her career at Infosys Technologies as an associate legal counsel, moving to Trilegal in 2011 as an associate.
She had become counsel in 2016.
Partner and head of employment Ajay Raghavan commented in the release: “It is a joy to see Swarnima’s growth to the firm’s partnership. In a short span, she has emerged as a top-notch employment lawyer and is arguably one of the best POSH experts in the country.

While promotions is a good thing and it always makes news, isnt it time to pause and think, "do promotions or top positions mean anything?"
For example, IL&FS is being investigated by SFIO and now the question arises "were the promotions given for doing unethical activities? Narrowing down the discussion to "Legal" what was the role of Group Counsel in the #ILFSmess? In the IL&FS context, whether Group Counsel, Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents were involved in unethical activities? So promotion may not always be a good thing. And I think its ok to not get promotions.
