SAM partner Siddharth Nair remains with firm, moves to Delhi in new role

The PE-VC dealmaker will be active in an admin role in training and development

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) partner Siddharth Nair will remain with the firm but has moved from Bangalore to Delhi in a primarily non-fee-earning role, we understand.

We had reported that Nair had handed in his resignation in May of last year.

However, it is understood that after talks with the firm he has decided to remain in the firm but in a new location and role.

While remaining a partner, in Delhi he will be in an administrative role including duties in training and development.

We have reached out to Nair and SAM several times but have not received any comment or confirmation.

Nair had been one of the busiest transactional partners in 2018-19 at SAM, having acted on at least 14 deals primarily in the VC space.

This had put him in seventh place of our 2018-19 financial year corporate dealmakers.
