SAM comms, BD manager Rahul Gossain moves to CAM as Delhi comms head

PR, BD manager Rahul Gossain moves to CAM from SAMPR, BD manager Rahul Gossain moves to CAM from SAM

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) corporate communications senior manager, Rahul Gossain, has joined Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) as its Delhi-based national marketing communications head.

He will be reporting to Mumbai-based deputy director corporate communications Madhumita Paul, and will be handling national communications as well as driving business development (BD) in the NCR region.

He was responsible for media engagement, external outreach, digital activities and supporting partners on BD initiatives at SAM.

Before joining Shardul Amarchand in 2015, Gossain had been working in a corporate brand management and a digital lead role at Max India for five years.

The 2001 marketing graduate from Delhi University’s Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, had begun his career at the PR firm Perfect Relations in 2001, followed by stints at PR firm Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide in Delhi, account manager at PR firm WPP, in-house corporate brand development manager at the Essel Group, and time as a communications consultant at 20:20 MSL in Delhi.

At SAM he had been reporting to corporate communications director Vimarsh Bajpai, who continues heading up the function.

Editor’s note: We have not previously covered moves in the law firm communications space but have received requests from readers to do so in the past, so we’re testing the waters. Do let us know if we should continue to report such moves in future.

Good stuff Rahul. You were a great asset here. Wish you all the best at CAM.
P.S. I am not sure what the attrition numbers were last year (or the years before that) but, quite visibally, this year its off the roof. And I am talking about just the second floor. [Disclaimer: I could be totally wrong, I am just a retainer here.]

You are correct, both ground floor and second floor have seen significant departures. Many more people (significant and insignificant) will resign once HR aunty distributes the letters and arrears hit the account. Few senior level departures and sabbaticals have not yet been reported. Clearly, the damage is more than what meets the eye.

Is this why the letters have not been distributed 6 months into the year!!!! I hear some tinkering may be done to when letters are given to ensure people lose a LOT OF MONEY when they leave. Sam would prefer to have disgruntled employees over ensuring better pay and happy "retainers"

What misleading and slanderous statements!
Surprised how you allowed them Kian without any verification.
Everyone at SAM knows there has been a comprehensive review of the salary structure and the idea being that salaries should be market leading. So there are going to be happy campers at SAM and everyone else in the market needs to worry as their lot will demand more. Also, despite it being 6 month, arrears are paid in I’ll from 1 April - unlike other firms located near shopping malls that made promises and failed to adhere to them!
I usually never comment, but when management is doing something good and right, it’s wrong to troll the way that is being done on LI.
Must be your jealousy my friend....
SAM is No. 1 this year and has been from the beginning of the year on Mergermarket both on deal value and deal count.... SAM is clearing out a lot of dead wood.... new policies and systems are in place.... heck they even installed a table tennis table !!
So go back into your holes your trolls!

Congratulations to all the lawyers/ employees of SAM who moved before today. Henceforth, SAM lawyers/employees can’t quit their job. If they do, for whatsoever reason, they will have to pay 3 months salary to the firm. Insane isn’t it? @kian - you should run a story on this.
