S&R Associates has elected arbitration and litigation counsel Shahezad Kazi into its partnership.
Kazi was a Bombay high court advocate before joining S&R in 2016, and specialises in corporate, commercial and real estate litigation, insolvency matters, securities law and other regulatory matters and international arbitration.
He is a 2006 GLC Mumbai graduate.
The partner promotions have come pretty much on time; last year, S&R had promoted two of its fee-earners to partner around 6 September.
The firm has also promoted three of its lawyers to counsel: Abhiroop Amitava Datta, Raunaq Bahadur Mathur and Dhruv Nath.
Abhiroop Amitava Datta specialises in corporate work, including capital markets, general corporate and regulatory matters. He had joined S&R Delhi in 2017 from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in Delhi, having also worked at AZB & Partners before. He is a 2009 Nalsar Hyderabad graduate.
Raunaq Bahadur Mathur works in litigation and arbitration, including in corporate and the infrastructure and oil and gas space. She holds an LLB from Barkatullah University, Bhopal, and an LLM in business law from NLSIU Bangalore.
Dhruv Nath is a Mumbai-based corporate lawyer, including M&A, private equity, regulatory and general corporate matters, including in the telecommunications, manufacturing and financial services spaces. The 2009 NLSIU Bangalore graduate had joined the firm on graduation in Delhi, besides a year away in 2015, after which he rejoined S&R in Mumbai.
Update, 17 September: We understand that S&R has frozen increments of salaries at last year’s level (i.e., no increments, as at most other firms), but has paid bonuses on time at the end of March 2020. However, we understand that those bonuses were not on the conservative side (meaning, roughly similar to last year).
We have reached out to S&R for further comment.

I hope you get busy with work and keep your jealousy aside. LI normally includes a table of the person they report about which helps to understand a person/firm etc. [...]
When Tier 1 will have a 10-15 percent growth every year + growth in bonus, it is not true for S&R and hence the best of S&R move to tier 1 firms overtime.
Hope this answers your query.
P.S. Party after vaccine?
Great show!
