S&R Associates gets eighth partner with Mohit Gogia promo

S&R Associates has promoted its Delhi corporate lawyer Mohit Gogia to partnership effective yesterday.

Gogia graduated as a lawyer from Campus Law Centre (CLC), Delhi University in 2005 and obtained an LLM from the New York University School of Law in 2006. He then joined Skadden Arps Slate Meagher and Flom LLP until 2008 when he joined S&R Associates.

His practice covers mergers and acquisitions, private equity, foreign investment and capital markets, according to an email from the firm.

The nine-year old firm is now eight partner-strong with its last two partners made up in 2012. The firm has no designated levels between associates and partners.

Mohit, has your name found its way on to the partnership-deed as well ? or is this just a designation? It is common belief that, even the lawyers who grow organically within this law-firm and survive its rigours, do find their name on the partnership-deed and are real-partners for all practical purposes, when designated. Is this true ?

A million USD P.A., maybe a bit more? Seeing you ppl coming down to this level and guessing his package makes me feel sick. My advise, in all earnestness, to those doing this: please keep trying for the best and never compromise with your state of mind with such activities, irrespective of how you are placed in life... It's a small step toward achieving discipline and professional-success.. I can tell first hand that Mohit is one of the many who stands for these values. Glad to see that he is being recognised for it !
