Reliance in houser Rahul Dutt joins Khaitan Mumbai partnership

Former Reliance Industries (RIL) senior in house counsel Rahul Dutt has joined Khaitan & Co as a corporate partner in Mumbai.

The GLC Mumbai and University of Leicester UK alumnus Dutt, who was with RIL for over 13 years, commented in Khaitan’s press release: “I have been considering joining a professional law firm for a while now, and Khaitan & Co was the natural choice.”

“Working at Reliance has been, both, professionally and personally, a very enriching experience, as I have had the opportunity to extensively work across the Group’s various businesses, legal functions and projects. I am very excited about this next phase of my professional career with a Firm whose value systems and professionalism I greatly value,” he added.

Khaitan managing partner Haigreve Khaitan said: ““Rahul is an exceptional lawyer and will be a great addition to our strong M&A Practice. Given our working relationship of more than a decade, his joining the Firm will further strengthen our relationship with the Reliance Group.”

Dutt takes Khaitan’s total partner count to 101.

All the best Rahul. On a separate note is KCO not able to attract international lawyers any more? Haven't seen any top hiring after series of exodus of partners to CAM, SAM!!! If I refresh my memory correctly, once upon a time KCO was preference number one for International lawyers. What is the story now? Kian, shouldn't you publish an article on hiring trends in international law Firms, return of the foreign trained lawyers, future of LLM candidates, Law Firm secondments etc.?
