NLU-J’s Vishal Yaduvanshi will be 2nd to get nod to Luthra partnership next month

Luthra & Luthra will promote corporate managing associate Vishal Yaduvanshi with effect of 1 February, according to an authoritative source, following Legally India’s report earlier this week of the upcoming promotion of Geeta Dhania.

Yaduvanshi was based in Luthra’s Mumbai office but moved to Delhi a year ago.

He was not reachable for comment at the time of going to press.

He had joined Luthra in 2007 as an associate from Juris Corp, after graduating from NLU Jodhpur in 2006.

Managing partner Rajiv Luthra and senior partner Mohit Saraf did not respond to messages and calls for comment, respectively. Yaduvanshi was not reachable for comment.

Strange why this comment is controversial? Yadu is good at his work, is a no nonsense guy. Minds his own Business. Disgruntled retainers? And whats with this Go NLU! Grow up guys! Its his achievement, give credit where due and stop these petty college mutual admiration societies!

Whats the big deal? Yadu may be good at work but luthra and saraf like him and retaining him... This shows Luthra is taking precaution before the amarchand blast.. Other firms who have good talents like kco, jsa, trilegal would follow... So people's be ready for partnerships... Achche din aa gaye... Thanks you amarchand...

Each firm is going to outdo itself in announcing Partners to show bench strength, senior resources and retain talent. My prediction - besides AZB- all other firms will announce between 10-18 partners each.. It's finally become a lawyers market. This will result in some brand dilution for all firms and some young kids who lack the maturity and gravitas getting a partner card - which some poor unsuspecting client will have to pay for. There will also be practice area movement more than just partners.

The AMSS split is really going to hurt other firms real bad. They will be poaching other lawyers from top firms to set up their offices in different cities. No wonder that Luthra is announcing promotions mid-year. All firms are now scared of the Shroff brothers poaching their resources
