Advaita Legal senior principal Dharnendra Kumar Rana has joined indirect tax boutique Nitya Tax Associates as a partner in Delhi.

Nitya managing partner Puneet Bansal - who had spun the firm out of BMR Advisors where he was indirect tax head - commented in a statement: “Dharnendra’s experience in indirect taxes will help us boost our litigation practice in Delhi.”

The 1993 LLB and 1996 LLM graduate from University Law College Jaipur, had been an independent advocate from 1994 until 2006, when he joined BMR & Associates (as it then was), followed by BMR Advisors as associate director, and BMR Legal in 2011, first as a director, then as a consultant.

From 2013 to 2015 he worked at Mazars Advisory as executive director and country head for indirect tax while also operating an independent indirect tax boutique called Soham Legal from Jaipur.

In 2015 he had joined Advaita.

Nitya Tax Associates now has a total of 7 partners, of whom 3 are associate partners. The firm has a total fee-earner headcount of around 40.

The firm had opened an office in Bangalore last month.
