L&L Partners under managing partner Rajiv Luthra, still embroiled in a bitter high court legal battle about the future of the partnership with senior partner Mohit Saraf, has added another partner with Prabjot Singh Bhullar in Delhi.
He specialises in infrastructure work.
Bhullar had joined Khaitan in 2009 from AZB & Partners.
After that, we understand that he had also joined PDS Legal for a while and has worked as an independent.
He is a 1992 law graduate of Delhi University.
We have reached out to Bhullar and L&L managing partner Rajiv Luthra for comment earlier today.
Update 23:01: In a press release, the firm said:
L&L Partners, New Delhi, is pleased to welcome back Mr. Prabjot Singh Bhullar, one of the first few employees to join the firm (then known as Luthra & Luthra Law Offices); more than two decades ago. Mr. Bhullar has previously also worked at JSA and Khaitan & Co. in New Delhi, along with AZB Partners in Mumbai. With his 28 years of experience across sectors, with a focus on Infrastructure and Energy, Mr. Bhullar adds tremendous strength and value to L&L Partners.

I mean are you seriously asking that question on this forum?!
Would have expected LL to not bow down and continue.......oh well.
You mean some other story has more comments
Troll comments from Khaitan, Symbiosis, HSA, TTA, law school is better than , which firm pays more, etc etc are real life traction
This man here: Partner at JSA, AZB, Khaitan.
When PSB left AZB, Zia commented some clients would likely follow him to Khaitan. That's speaks volumes.
Khaitan hired PSB during its star recruitment (along with Bharat Anand, Neelakantan, Unadkat) that propelled KCOs expansion.
Believe me. This is a big splash.
Legal market is cut throat outside law firms also.
It is not a comeback when someone is in a field for 25+ yrs.
Luthra has reputation and connections in infrastructure.
Plenty of work out there. Good hire.
Baaki khud sab samajhdar hai
1. Some old lawyers are being recruited when they are not really known to be any kind of rainmakers.
2. This seems like their 2nd shot at reviving their career in a firm they left decades ago.
3. The equity for the younger partners still stays elusive. The 2 partners are fighting, bonus havent been paid to people who are still in the firm, when it was said that the explusion was to save the firm and keep it on even KEEL!
4. Looks like another classic from the firm where nothing concrete about equity gets decided except when ad hoc inductions have to be made. That surely was done quickly. Everything less is kept lingering forever. I think people will soon see through this - PSB or no PSB. If it were not for the double whammy of the court case and pandemic, the people would not have put up with such behaviour for this long!
Perhaps more are on way
I smell a strong bias in comments
Pro MS group and other firms would oppose
Pro RKL group would applaud
Some neutrals are happy experiencing schadenfreude
Here even A0 can illogically badmouth someone 25 years senior
Many Luthra lawyers were approached by multiple firms
If unhappy and pessimistic you could resign
[...] remember the first rule of conflict -- Your opponent is prepared for what is logical and expected in your view, but not for unexpected. RKL is your BAAP and will outwit you in his SLEEP. AA and PSB will stay with him and give comfort to clients about continuity without costing RKL the moon [...].
MS eventually distributed RLs equity, and now that MS is gone, RL has not really lived upto his grand promises of his diluting 20% of equity to deserving partners, instead he gave it to his "yes men" as also stated in MS petition before the Delhi HC.
While all this confusion has been created about equity, now the bonus for December is also being delayed. What a grand plan to cheat people out of their money in the middle of a pandemic.
Are y'all waiting for some incentives or benefits to come your way for staying with the firm in this self-induced "tough times"? If not, then what are you waiting for before jumping off the sinking ship?
RKL has run away for a vacay in the middle of crisis in the firm, heard that MS has a hill side home next to RKLs, so maybe Bharat milap may happen there. Hills will do what Delhi HC and mediator couldn't.
Once they settle, Together they would have conned the younger partners first of equity shares and then now their pocket change bonuses. Some men will never be satisfied with the wealth, perhaps they know this generation has to earn and keep for their future generations.
BTW, if he didn't know, why didn't his camp's lawyers from an even better college, tell him, perhaps they were all too blinded by the crores that would come their way to pay for their nouvea riche lifestyles!
But then the original A lister never thought much of the real estate lawyers. He forever paid them peanuts and humiliated them.
