Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan (LKS) has hired Amritha Salian, who had been an associate partner at Themis Associates in Bangalore until June 2019, and Gaurav Dayal, who had been Gurgaon-based associate general counsel at the Oyo hotels group.
Both have joined the firm as partners.
Salian, a 2006 University Law College Bangalore LLB graduate, had previously worked at Mundkur Law Partners, where she had been a partner, as well as Trilegal, Lexygen and IndusLaw.
Dayal had been working at the erstwhile Amarchand Mangaldas in Delhi since graduating from NLSIU Bangalore in 2008, only leaving in April 2019 as a principal associate from successor firm Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas to join Oyo.
With their joining, LKS has 12 partners and joint partners across its corporate and M&A practice group.
LKS principal partner and head of corporate and M&A, N Mathivanan, commented: “Both Gaurav and Amritha are exceptional additions to our corporate and M&A practice group.
“Their joining reflects our commitment to offer sophisticated, responsive and high-quality legal support to our clients on corporate advisory matters and transactions across our offices.”

JP is just a way of appeasement by LKS and making fool of outsiders by calling such designation Joint Partner. It is essentially equivalent of MA/PA in most other tier 2/3 firms. I am just amused to see the people within LKS are trying to project some issue with some JP in the firm as some conspiracy. Who really cares
Last I checked - Dayal was in Raghubir's team in SAM. And I have seen him/ his work. He was good. Raghubir liked him (though not more than you know who :D).
