Litigation-focused Singhania & Partners spreads wings into corporate with new Gurgaon office

Singhania & Partners has opened an office in Gurugram headed by partner Arjun Anand who is expanding the firm’s corporate practice.

Symbiosis Pune 2005 alumnus Anand, who joined the firm in March, told us that the primarily litigation-focused firm was now looking to create a balance between its litigation and corporate practice areas.

Gurugram, being the hub for the firm’s corporate clients, was thus the optimal choice of place for a new office, he said.

Several start-ups, which comprised around 30 per cent of the firm’s corporate M&A mandates, were situated in proximity to the new office, according to Anand. The remaining corporate practice clients included foreign companies in the IT, F&B and automobile manufacturing space, many of which were interested in making inbound investments in India.

Managing partner Ravi Singhania commented in a press release: “It is a great feeling for the firm to expand its presence in NCR. Our new office is a step towards our vision in terms of expansion and growth and will strengthen our relationships with clients having presence in Gurugram and Manesar.”

Singhania & Partners Gurugram office currently has 5 lawyers, including Anand. The firm currently has 61 fee earners including 14 partners. Out of the firm’s four offices in Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Gurgaon, Bangalore too has been doing corporate work.
