Talwar Thakore & Associates has promoted counsel Shruti Zota in the corporate team to its all-equity partnership of six, from 1 April 2018.

The GLC Mumbai 2006 graduate, had joined TTA in 2008 after two years at Desai & Diwanji.

Zota is the second to have been internally promoted to partner at TTA, without having spent at least several years at TTA’s international best friend Linklaters, following Rituparno Bhattacharya’s promotion in 2016.

She specialises in joint ventures, public mergers & acquisitions and advising banks on acquisitions and regulatory and compliance issues, according to TTA’s statement.

TTA partner Kunal Thakore commented: “It has been fantastic to see her mature as a lawyer through her time at TT&A and we wish her all the success in this next stage of her career. Shruti’s addition to partnership reflects growing client demand and our commitment to meet that demand with strong, committed and accomplished lawyers. I am certain that her election will allow us to deepen relationships with our clients and enhance our strong reputation with them.”

Partner Feroz Dubash added: “Shruti is our first home grown partner, having joined the firm almost out of law school. Having seen her grow through the ranks, I look forward to continuing to work with her to develop and grow our corporate practice.”

Talwar Thakore & Associates has a total of 6 partners, of whom 6 are equity, and 2 are women., with offices in Mumbai and Delhi.
