Legasis Partners partner Sachin Mandlik has joined Khaitan & Co as a partner in dispute resolution in Mumbai.

Mandlik is a Bombay Incorporate Law Society (BILS) solicitor who graduated from GLC Mumbai in 1997 and had been a partner at Legasis Partners since 2007.

Correction: The original version of this article stated that Mandlik had worked at Legasis until 2008.

According to a Khaitan press release, Mandlik “has advised and acted for various multinational and industrial houses, on various complex litigation and arbitration proceedings.

“He also deals with cases relating to corporate and allied laws, constitutional law, property matters, trust laws, securities transactions and insurance before various judicial and quasi judicial authorities in India”.

I wonder who is on his/her way out of Khaitan, in reference to the its unofficial "hire one and fire another" policy....

I believe that Legasis is an LPO owned by the DSK Legal people. It surely did start as an LPO with an office at the ICC towers, Pune, Maharashtra. Didn't know that it transformed into a law firm!!

The Nation Wants to Know....why such malice. Lets wish Sachin good luck for his stint with KCO and hope he performs like Sachin (pre 2012) for the Firm.

Congrats to Sachin... This is very smart strategy by K & Co... By strengthening on practice areas like Litigation and Real Estate, they are clearly keeping themselves ahead and apart from other top-tier firms like AMSS, AZB, L&L, Trilegal etc. who solely rely on Corporate - M&A, Project Finance etc. for their bread and butter... K & Co. is the only true top-tier "full" service law firm...

(And by the way I am not a part of K & Co. : ) but I do respect their strategy if not their quality of work itself)

I understand that I have to write with feelings. However, Mr. Mandlik is a someone who has moved (so he feels) ahead by biting his mentors. Hope Khaitan is in in its right mind.

It is not unusual among lawyers of this generation to show disrespect towards seniors.. But please clarify...
