Legasis Partners associate partner Nishad Nadkarni has joined Khaitan & Co in Mumbai as a partner in its intellectual property (IP) practice.

The Symbiosis 1999 LLB alumnus began his career at Singhania & Co while simultaneously pursuing an LLM from the University of Mumbai, after completing which he moved to AZB & Partners as a senior associate and then to DSK Legal as manager. Nadkarni was at Legasis since 2009.

His focus area is intellectual property disputes and advisory work, media and entertainment matters, commercial disputes, real estate and corporate transactions, according to Khaitan’s press release.

Khaitan Mumbai partner Rabindra Jhunjhunwala commented in an email: “On behalf of the firm, I am delighted to welcome Nishad to the IP team. The work Nishad undertakes for the firm will not only help maintain the firm’s momentum, but build on its rapidly increasing reputation in the IP practice.”
