JSA promotes 2 disputes lawyers to salaried partner

J Sagar Associates (JSA) has promoted two of its senior associates - Zerick Dastur and Ananya Kumar - to salaried partner.

Dastur is based in Mumbai and specialises in dispute resolution, while also Kumar focuses on dispute resolution from Delhi, according to Bar & Bench.

JSA’s single firm equity partnership is currently full-up at 20, though Aashit Shah was promoted as the third “equity partner elect” in June, alongside one salaried partner promotion.

Dastur specialises in securities and corporate law and is in Som's team. Very well regarded by clients and peers. JSA is clearly the place for talent to have a work life balance.

Good to know about work-life balance. Really, very good. At the end of the day, you are earning for self and for your family. Nothing else matters, nothing.

It is better to enjoy life rather than talking about big deals/transactions, because the money earned will otherwise be wasted by paying doctor's fees and medical examinations.

Zerich works directly with Berjis Desai. He is not Som's team. And work-life balance does not mean no big deals. Hence the "work" component.

work is work, whether small or big. Lawyers are some how concerned only about "big deals". You don't become small by working on "small" deals.
