J Sagar Associates (JSA) has hired Shafaq Uraizee Sapre as a Mumbai-based retained partner from Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan (LKS).

At LKS, the 2001 GLC Mumbai graduate was an executive partner and head of corporate for West & South India, specialising in M&A, joint ventures and private equity work.

She will be part of JSA corporate partner Sandeep Mehta’s team.

Before joining LKS in 2016, she had been a partner at Bharucha & Partners, where she had moved from Nishith Desai Associates in 2015 as head of joint ventures, having been at the firm for eight years.

“We wish Shafaq a long and mutually beneficial association with JSA,” commented joint managing partners Amit Kapur and Vivek Chandy in an announcement.
