IndusLaw has hired its second tax lateral partner with PDS Legal director Shashi Mathews having joined as a partner in its Delhi office.
Mathews, a 2009 Amity Law School graduate who had also worked at Economic Laws Practice (ELP) before PDS, specialises in indirect taxes and regulatory issues, including in the valuation, classification and anti-profiteering fields.
Mathews joins six months after Indus had started its tax practice with EY chartered accountant and direct tax director Ritesh Kumar Talreja in Bengaluru.
We have reached out to IndusLaw for comment.
Update 18:04: Indus co-founding partner Gaurav Dani commented in a press release about Mathews’ joining: “He will add strength & diversity to our tax practice. Apart from tax regulatory and disputes capability, our offering in this practice area will now include indirect taxation as well. Once again, we extend a warm welcome to Shashi.”
Mathews added: “I look forward to working with the firm and growing its national tax practice. My experience will be complimentary to the firm’s existing capabilities and I look forward to be part of the IndusLaw growth story.”
PDS Legal commented: “We wish Shashi all the best”.
