IndusLaw has in Bengaluru recruited Bharadwaj Jaishankar as a partner in its intellectual property practice.
He was previously counsel at drinks brand Diageo, responsible for Asia, IP and innovation, and since graduating in 2008 from SLS Pune had also worked at IP and technology firms Saikrishna & Associates and K&S Partners.
He specialises in trademarks, copyrights, designs and geographical indications across the APAC region and also deals in commercial law issues.
According to IndusLaw, while in private practice he had been “actively involved in some precedent-setting judgments”, “including on intermediary liability, trademark law, geographical indications and interplay between copyright and design rights”:
A standout achievement for Bharadwaj has been the successfully leading and coordination of a team comprising law firms across 50 countries, on behalf of the Government of India, for the protection and enforcement of rights for one of India’s landmark and renowned Geographical Indications.
