This is very surprising. Trilegal is so desperate that it is hiring from tier 2/3 firms also. What happened to its snobbish behaviour?

How much does a partner like Mr. Arora earn?
Inside edge 14 Jul 2019, 08:12

Well depends - if he’s a part of the equity lockstep pool then should be around 1cr pre tax. If there is a different arrangement, where he isn’t a part of the partnership pool, then perhaps a bit less.

This is interesting . Isnt trilegal all equity or are you saying he is not party of equity lockstep pool?
Kuch bhi 16 Jul 2019, 05:23

Its all equity. Inside Edge's comment is speculative rubbish.

I have recently interned at a Big 7. I found most associates to be complaining about their work life balance and unhappy with their work despite fat pay checks. Does it get any easier as a person reach SA, PA, partner level or does the (im)balance remain the same?

there is no such thing as "Big 7". and no, it does not get better.

It gets easier. Your promotion is a testament to your terrible work life balance in big 7 (is there such a thing?). And once up there you are left with professionals and not many friends.

No. it gets worse.

I am sorry for having used the word Big 7. But I was told that SAs and PAs leave earlier than the associates do and associates are given all the work to do.

In a sense, this is true - though of course, the dynamic of each team/ vertical may vary in this regard. To explain - this is because as one ascends through the ranks in a law firm, he/ she tends to delegate a lot of work to his/ her juniors, and oftentimes, until such delegated work is completed - the senior cannot proceed further. However, it is not required for the senior to stick around at the office till such time the delegated work is completed. Oftentimes, this can mean - long nights for junior associates and relatively better hours at the SA/PA level. However, during specific times in the life of a transaction (especially, during what is called "closing") - resources across the seniority spectrum at the associate level end up having to be available around the clock.

Guess Trilegal was looking for a real estate lawyer for a long time now. But is this move from tri looking to take care of both real estate and bit of Infra? Maybe they played safe in not having out and out real estate partner...

Whos left for infra at HSA? Is the firm facing challenge in execution now forget rain making? Considering they always had mandates at least in infra and regulatory space.
