Hemant Singh’s Charter opens Mumbai office to focus on Adani, Green Infra, SKS Power work

Charter Law Chambers, which was started by Praxis Counsel partner Hemant Singh earlier this year in Delhi as a regulatory shop, has opened a Mumbai office with three fee-earners.

The office is based in the Fort area and is intended to service its existing clients such as Adani Electricity, Green Infra and SKS Power, the firm said in a statement.

In Delhi, independent lawyer Mridul Chakravarty (pictured) has also joined the firm as senior partner.

He will be based in Delhi but is responsible for overseeing the new Mumbai operations.

The 2007 Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Delhi law graduate had previously also worked at Praxis, before going independent in 2011.

Charter is now consists of 17 lawyers, up from 8 lawyers in February when it was founded, according to a statement.
