Former Ernst & Young director, international trade Tashi Kaul has joined Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan (LKS) today as a partner in its Delhi international trade and competition practice.

The Delhi University law alumnus has an MPhil in developmental economics from Cambridge University and began her career in 1997, first consulting with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) as an economist and then joining White & Case in February 2000 as director of WTO affairs.

She worked at White & Case in Geneva, Washington and Brussels before moving to Ernst & Young in July 2010.

Kaul has extensive experience representing clients in trade remedies matters before investigating authorities and counselling government and private sector clients on the consistency of trade restrictions with WTO law, according to LKS.

Last week, LKS Gurgaon added former general motors director MS Vasan as an executive partner in its Gurgaon direct tax practice, and the week before that former DH Law partner Vikas Kumar as a partner in its Mumbai corporate practice.
