Delhi-headquartered firm AKS Partners has hired Anish Jaipuriar as partner and head of a new specialised general corporate practice, around six months after he had begun working with the firm on part-time assignments.
Jaipuriar had joined in January 2020 as an ad hoc “subject matter expert for corporate transactions for various projects”, said a spokesperson, but he is now a permanent member of the firm in the corporate practice of three lawyers.
He was previously senior associate at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, where he had worked for a year-and-a-half after having worked at Khaitan & Co for around four years in Delhi.
He is a 2014 NLU Odisha law graduate, and specialises in corporate and litigation work, and was recently empanelled as standing counsel for the state of Jharkhand in the Supreme Court.
Managing partner Sonal Kumar Singh said in a release: “We believe his commercial acumen will not only drive the practice toward successful client servicing but also provide distinguished support to the dispute resolution team with respect to the commercial and transactional issues pertaining to a matter.”
The firm has also hired independent litigator Anshuman Gupta as a principal associate and added two more associates in dispute resolution. Singh said that this would “infuse the freshness & positivity amongst the team during this unprecedented time” in a statement.
AKS had turned from a sole proprietor chambers practice, which had been started in 1988 by senior advocate AK Singh, into a partnership in 2018.

You have the creativity and determination to do whatever you can dream. I’m sure today will be only the first of many proud moments for you at your new firm.
And I’m sure AKS will rise high with such an amazing team.
All the best!
Atleast do your minimal journalistic checks before publishing something.
Kudos for what he has achieved so far. Long road ahead, though.
