Paras Kuhad & Associates (PKA) Delhi disputes partner Ravi Prakash has joined DSK Legal with a team of 14 lawyers, almost doubling the size of DSK’s Delhi outpost.

DSK will have to secure a larger office in Delhi to accommodate the new joiners, DSK managing partner Anand Desai (pictured) told Legally India yesterday.

He said: “We’ve decided to expand in a very, very big way. That is a big step forward for us in Delhi and we are fairly close to concluding in Bangalore to start an office there.”

He said that DSK’s previous Delhi office strength was 23 lawyers and three partners.

Prakash said that his practice covered all aspects and facets of litigation, including corporate commercial, tax, criminal and also regulatory litigation.

Paras Kuhad’s Delhi office was at a strength of roughly 28 lawyers before Prakash’s departure.

Prakash said: “I continue to have excellent relations with Paras. He will always remain someone to motivate and guide you but it was a purely a career decision. I’ll keep on working with him as a counsel – he’s very respected and an excellent counsel.”

PKA managing partner Paras Kuhad confirmed Prakash’s and added that PKA’s Delhi office would remain operational but declined to comment further.

In December 2009 PKA and Hemant Sahai Associates had split after two months as a merged firm.

This is strange since DSK Legal still seems to maintain that they are only a corporate firm and have no litigation cell!!!!

That's hardly the case. Their Mumbai Lit department just got a swanky new office, and is hardly doing badly.
