DSK grows to 22 partners: Promotes 3 to salaried partner, 5 to associate partner (like designate) [UPDATE-1]

DSK Legal has grown to 22 partners, promoting 3 from associate to salaried partner level, while making five new associate partners, a designation that is equivalent to partner designate and just below salaried partner.

Update 20:15: The originally published story erroneously stated that 3 had been promoted to equity, and 5 to associate partner. However, 3 have been promoted to salaried partner, with 5 promoted to a partner-designate equivalent qualification.

That takes DSK Legal’s total partner headcounts to 15, including equity partnership of 12 and salaried partnership of 3, as well as 7 partner designates.

DSK managing partner Anand Desai commented in a press release: “Our firm commences its 18th year today. The changes we effected in the past months have already started yielding positive results, and I am confident that our continuing efforts will allow us to achieve our individual and collective career aspirations.”

“We are in our next phase of growth, and continuing to strive towards excellence in all that we do. We will see more changes in the current year.”

DSK had hired Padmini Rathore as as CEO, who was former a director at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, followed by two years of legal consulting.

DSK is also currently in the process of re-booting its equity partnership, after having frozen equity levels for two years to work out a new system, as we reported at the time.

It is understood that the process is still underway.

Desai added in the release: “Our evaluation and remuneration systems are being revised to attract and retain talent, as also to motivate and reward high performers for their contribution to our firm. I’d like to congratulate all those who have been promoted. Each has demonstrated their commitment to the growth and betterment of our firm.”

According to its press release today, the firm has now promoted the following three associate partners to salaried partner:

a) Chandrima Mitra (Mumbai - media & entertainment)

b) Hemang Parekh (Mumbai - corporate), and

c) Pritha Jha (Mumbai - corporate)
