Former DH Law Associates partner Vikas Kumar will join Lakshmikumaran Sridharan (LKS) as a partner in its Mumbai corporate practice tomorrow.

NLSIU Bangalore 2004 alumnus Kumar, who is an England & Wales qualified solicitor, had resigned from DH Law last year to pursue his MBA at INSEAD France.

He had stints at Crawford Bayley, Khaitan & Co, J Sagar Associates (JSA) and Olswang Singapore before DH Law.

Kumar was not available for comment at the time of going to press.

Kumar takes LKS’ total partner count in Mumbai to seven, confirmed Mumbai partner Badri Narayanan commenting: “We are very excited by this addition and he adds further value to our Corporate law practice.”

Ajay Joseph was the firm’s other corporate partner in Mumbai.

It is Mr. Badrinarayanan/Badri Narayanan, not Badri Natarajan.

Why on earth did Vikas do an INSEAD MBA if at the end of it, he is to join Lakshmikumaran Sridharan? I mean, he could have joined LS straight from DH Law, couldn’t he? An INSEAD MBA is pretty expensive – around 65,000 Euros for just tuition– I doubt if he had a scholarship. There are few other NLS lawyers who have done an MBA only to tamely join a law firm afterwards. There’s Yashashvi Mohanram of Platinum Partners who did an MBA from ISB and then joined White & Case in Singapore. Delhi SAM Partner Nikhil Narayanan did an MBA from the London Business School, but joined a law firm soon afterwards. Kian you need to do a feature on lawyers who do an MBA and successfully switch and those who fail to do so.

Mr MBA master- why do you care? Sometimes people do what they like. Not everything in life is done to get into a law firm or just become a partner. That's what is called "Personal Choice". You seem to be obsessed with "success and failure" LoL. Get a Life!! Will tell Viku to come to you and take some advice- on his next steps. This is just a reaction to the opening sentence- "Why on earth did Vikas....." Gyaan Ke Bhandaar- how successful are you? Are you an INSEAD MBA? Also Viku has money to spend 65,000 Euros. Why does it bother you- whether he got scholarship / loan to fund this.

Kian- doesn't need to do the research- you have already done. "Take a Smoke Break"
