Chandhiok & Mahajan expands to 6, promotes Deeksha Manchanda as 2nd comp partner

Delhi-based corporate, competition and disputes firm Chandhiok & Mahajan (C&M) has promoted counsel Deeksha Manchanda to its partnership and as its second partner specialising in competition law.

She specialises in competition law, particularly in merger control, cartel investigations and abuse of dominance cases before the Competition Commission of India (CCI), the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), the Competition Appellate Tribunal, and the Supreme Court. She also deals in data protection and privacy advisory work.

Managing partner Pooja Mahajan commented in a press release: “Deeksha is an accomplished lawyer with diverse experience on transactional, litigious, and regulatory work. We are delighted to have her join our growing partnership.”

Competition law and disputes head Karan Singh Chandhiok added: “In a short period of time, C&M has established itself as one of the top-tier competition practices handling complex and market leading matters for our clients. Manchanda is a 2011 NLIU Bhopal graduate (where she was an academic gold medallist). By 2013 she had completed an LLM at Oxford University as a Commonwealth Scholar, where she had been awarded the Archibold Bishop Prize by Somerville College Oxford.

Manchanda had joined C&M a year ago in January 2020 from Economic Laws Practice (ELP), where she had been a senior associate.

With Manchanda, Chandhiok & Mahajan now has 6 partners, with a total fee-earner count of 34, across corporate, insolvency, disputes and competition practice areas.

Besides now two competition partners, two of the partners specialise in corporate law, managing partner Mahajan focuses on insolvency and restructuring and one partner specialises in disputes and investigations.
