CAM competition partner Bharat Budholia resigns for pastures new

Competition partner Bharat Budholia to enter the market
Competition partner Bharat Budholia to enter the market

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) Mumbai-cum-Delhi-based competition partner Bharat Budholia has resigned several weeks ago, we have learned from authoritative sources.

We have not been able to confirm whether he has accepted an offer from another law firm, or how long CAM will keep him to his contractual notice period.

But with experienced and available competition partners remaining as rare as gold dust in the Indian legal market, it’s likely that he’ll find a new home before long.

Budholia is a 2009 HNLU Raipur graduate, who had joined what-was-then Amarchand Mangaldas in 2011 from Juris Corp.

He had been promoted to partner in 2016, shortly after the impending departure of then-competition head Nisha Kaur Uberoi to AZB & Partners.

In 2018, CAM had buttressed its competition practice with Khaitan & Co partner Avaantika Kakkar and her team.

CAM also has competition partner Anshuman Sakle; TMT and competition partner Rahul Goel had joined IndusLaw in March.

We have reached out to Budholia for comment.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas managing partner Cyril Shroff commented: “We wish him all the best.”
