US-international firm Goodwin Procter Hong Kong-based private equity partner Abhishek Krishnan, who is a 2009 NLSIU Bangalore graduate and had joined the firm in 2015, was promoted to partnership at the US firm last month as part of a group of 33 new global partners.
Along with the firm’s Asia chairman Yash Rana, Krishnan has been advising a who’s who of Chinese and international funds that have been placing large bets on Indian companies, such as DST and Hillhouse on Swiggy’s $1bn round in 2018, and Falcon Edge Capital on a $72m Series C round in scooter start-up Bounce.
According to the firm’s press release and his website profile, he had also advised DST on its investments in India in Olacabs and Udaan (as well as throughout Asia), while for Falcon Edge he assisted on its Dailyhunt, Ola and the National Stock Exchange.
Other of his clients include Vy Capital (which has investments in UrbanClap and Zomato), Coatue Management (Faasos and Careem), TA Associates which infused cash into Micromax.
He had also been on a secondment with Hillhouse Capital in 2017, and had also previously practised in India.
He had worked at Amarchand Mangaldas in Bangalore after graduating in 2009 until 2014 when he moved to Good win and Hong Kong.
He is qualified to practice in England & Wales and India (but not in Hong Kong).

Anyways, congratulations are in order!!!
He just became Partner. He most likely was an SA when you worked with him.
That being said "Partner" across US firms has also come to mean different things. A first year Partner at Cravath or SulCrom is entirely different from a Partner at Kirkland, Goodwin or Gibson.
Now, he seems to have entered into the US level partnership of Goodwin (which could be an umbrella partnership for all geographies or for US + HK or some other permutation).
