Algo Legal has laterally added another partner, Abhinav Bhalaik from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas - alongside Nishith Desai Associates’ Richie Sancheti.

Bhalaik, a 2009 NLU Jodhpur graduate, specialises in corporate, M&A, restructuring and private equity.

He had spent the first even years of his career at Platinum Partners before joining Shardul Amarchand in 2017 as a partner.

In a press release, he said: “I look forward to working with everyone at Algo to further strengthen the corporate, mergers & acquisitions and private equity practice of the firm, along with a strong focus on client servicing, technology and innovation.”

Shardul Amarchand commented: “We wish him all the very best.”

Managing partner Sandeep Kapoor added: “The time is ripe for a transformation to unfold in terms of legal offerings in the investment market; one which is steered by innovative practices.

“This is a great milepost for the firm as it reaffirms the confidence of leading industry specialists in Algo’s mission; we have identified our potential future leaders and will strive to keep perfecting our delivery model of solving multiple problems through well integrated platforms.

“Richie and Abhinav bring with them diverse expertise in the funds practice and vast knowledge of dealing with complex domestic and cross-border investments and acquisitions and with them coming on-board our goal to provide end-to-end investment offerings is accomplished.”

Congratulations Abhinav and Algo legal. Abhinav is a terrific guy with a strong pedigree of Platinum Partners and SAM. Looks like Covid is compelling people to find the entrepreneurial bug in them! Some terrific hires by Algo Legal. Hope it works out for everyone!

Whats the use of these hires? Once he sees how the firm is actually run, he will ALso Go. Better to have stuck at past places than try this.

Why did you leave Algo, ALso Go? Or were you asked to move on?

The only people who are asked to leave Algo are the office staff (as firm doesn't want to pay them during lockdown).

The rest run away with clients.

Here comes the hater! Get a life and try and start up on your own - start a venture, do something and you will know what it takes to be an entrepreneur - don't waste your energy criticising !
