After having postponed the 2020 new recruits’ joining dates to 2021, L&L Partners has now promised to welcome all freshers by 12 November 2020 after the continuing and unresolved management turmoil at the firm had left hires on tenterhooks for weeks now.
In a Zoom call held last evening between managing partner Rajiv Luthra and nearly 50 joinees, Luthra assured the recruits that their hiring would be moved forward, after the firm had announced in September that their start date would not happen before 2021 (although a few had been ‘onboarded’ earlier).
Luthra confirmed the November 2020 date in a later email to the freshers, stating: “As mentioned, owing to the continuing pandemic, you will work from home, until you are informed of your physical reporting day at the office.
“I look forward to welcoming you in person soon, as well as, to us working together towards further enriching our institution.”
We have reached out to Luthra for comment earlier this evening but have had no response.
Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas’ incoming batch of around 78 freshers recruited to start in 2020 remains scheduled to only begin in 2021, though some online onboarding programmes are in the works.

It's really funny and ironic when a firm with so many issues can and the one "Claiming" legal tech revolution can't
Makes you wonder the actual reason
This is opposed to places like TL where you'd have 2 years of work-ex, or even SAM where you'd have 1.5 work ex (with the added benefit of a rotation) by the time you become an A2.
For the sort of work done at law firms, experience is everything. Stop short-changing your juniors.
Then what will these guys do ? Wait till they are never on par with their batchmates ?
God i miss the cold war!
Now the only firm that remains is CAM which is ironically the leading and the most advanced law firm (obviously as per themselves only)
What has been stopping them from inducting ? Seems money crisis are really there for CAM and no other law firm
I thought he used to be Jinnah's intern, back when he defended Chandrasekhar Azad before the Bom. HC
"They'll make me a partner of the interns lot someday."
I thought he was an intern since the inception of the firm. Was expecting him to file an I.A. in the Saraf- Luthra tiff, wasn't he the founding intern. XD

A few from Big 3 NLUs (Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyd)
Plus many from Mid 4 NLUs (Kolkata + Jodhpur + Bhopal + Gandhinagar)
Plus a few from Small 6 NLUs (Kochi + Raipur + Patiala + Lucknow + Cuttack + Lucknow)
Plus a few from Tiny Ten NLUs (Mumbai + Patna + Vishakapatnam + Gauhati + Ranchi + Trichy + Nagpur + Aurangabad + Shimla + Sonipat)
Plus a very small number from non-NLUs, often through contacts
CAM grads should apply to other openings floating around in the market. We will actually respect the talent.
At least, I am talent for my firm and have advantage of flexi work model. Who are you a ‘resource’?
All I'm saying my firm ( with a new office and pleasant weather) will respect them more by obviously kick starting their careers immediately
Oh! and i have absolutely no responsibility to anyone. Basically i am doing YOU a favour by joining you and you should kiss my feet. Otherwise i will whine and moan!
DAB!
Now please share the college-wise breakup!!
