Former Economic Laws Practice (ELP) partner Anay Banhatti, whom we had reported went independent at the Bombay bar in March, has joined DMD Advocates as a tax partner in its Mumbai office.

DMD founder and managing partner Fereshte D Sethna commented in a press release: “Anay augments our robust tax team in the realm of both international and domestic tax laws.”

Banhatti commented: “DMD Advocates provides a good platform to enhance the litigation practice, with focus on tax.

“DMD is doing significant amount of tax litigation work and is recognised for some commendable work in this area, and, has a good team. I look forward to supplement this offering of the firm.”

Banhati, an ILS Pune graduate, had joined ELP in 2007, where he was made associate partner in 2015, and partner in 2017.
