Advani & Co partner Apar Gupta goes indie lit

Apar Gupta, litigation partner at Advani & Co in Delhi, will go independent after having handed in his notice two weeks ago.

Gupta commented: “Essentially I am leaving to start a solo litigation practice.

“I have had a wonderful time in Advani and was involved in a lot of the firms work centered around commercial arbitration.

“I hope to concentrate on clients in the media and technology sector while taking up cases of general civil and commercial litigation.”

Gupta, who began his career at Karanjawala & Co, had later started up disputes boutique Accendo Law Partners with two other partners and had joined Advani & Co in 2011 through the merger of Accendo with Advani.

Advani managing partner Hiroo Advani commented: “Apar and I shared an excellent relationship and have had an amicable parting.

“Both of us plan to continue to supporting each other and we look forward to briefing and encourage our friends to brief Apar.”

Well, I have seen Mr. Gupta in action and I am sure he'll be a great counsel. All the best to him!

You forgot to mention that he is Forbes 30 Under 30. Now that he is not in a firm, it will help his practice if he is AOR. He should write the exam again and not get deterred by failure once.
