Four Bangalore-based associates from Dua Associates and K Law have started up the law firm Spectrum Legal in Bangalore.

The firm’s litigation practice is headed by former Dua senior associates Chintan Chinnappa and Mahesh Arkalgud (respectively 2009 and 2008 graduate from Bangalore University). Chinnappa started his career at Poovayya & Co, while Arkalgud began at ALMT Legal. Poornachandra B Pattar (a former PXV Law Partners, Dua Associates lawyer, followed by a stint at Tally Solutions, having graduated from Bangalore University in 2010) heads real estate.

Vaishnavi Bhaskaran (an independent lawyer who formerly worked at Poovayya & Co after K Law, who graduated from NLU Jodhpur in 2010) as head of corporate and employment law.

Chinnappa commented:

Spectrum Legal was conceived solely with a view to address the need in the market for law firms which can service all the clients needs under one roof.

As the name suggests, we endeavour to make available the complete spectrum of legal services. Having lawyers with varying yet complementary core competencies brings a unique synergy to the practice, wherein we try to ensure that every client is serviced under one roof.

When asked about whether it was an issue for young lawyers to build a law firm, he said: “I don’t really see that as an issue. If you notice, most law firms have been promoting youngsters as partners.

“Gone are the days when grey hair was the only sign of wisdom.”

Having worked closely with both Chintan and Poorna, I am confident that these guys will do well. Chintan especially is a very bright and hard working lawyer who brings a lot of value to the group. Wish these guys all the best!

Man say what you want about their moneymaking skills (and you may even be right, who knows) but you have to admit that Vaish looks The Bizness in that hair and suit. Commaaan man. Just admit off ;)
