2014-promoted Wadia G partner Gaurav Singhi leaves for JSA

Wadia Ghandy partner Gaurav Singhi, who was promoted in April 2014, has joined J Sagar Associates (JSA) as a partner.

Mumbai partner Akshay Chudasama confirmed that Singhi would join the firm as a non-equity retained partner. The news was first reported by Bar & Bench earlier today.

Singhi, a 2006 NUJS Kolkata graduate, was promoted at Wadia Ghandy in April with seven others. Update: He confirmed his move into as a corporate and M&A partner but declined to comment further when contacted.

Wadia Ghandy managing partner Ashish Ahuja was not reachable for comment via email.

Update: Ahuja commented via email: “Well I do hope he finds his happiness there. Wishing him all the best.”

At least Ahuja is graceful in his final words..cant say the same about Cyril, Vandana, Rajiv Luthra, Zia etc. who use these opportunities to sneer down the outgoing guy

LOL Some Ahuja-hater is downvoting these these very innocuous 'compliments' to him. Or maybe a Cyril-lover. [...].

Ashish is a gem and he would allow his juniors to do whatever they felt would be right for them. Seems strange to have Gaurav leave after partnership - was it for more money?

Something cryptic in what Ahuja said.. I do wonder what the source of this unhappiness to WG was.. or perhaps it was just about the money..

CV is not made with names of law firms, else anyone would've made a name switching jobs! It's made with varied experience, which Gaurav surely has.

Many have left Wadia in recent days. I hear they are recruiting without interviews also, even at entry level.
