Wadia Ghandy partner Amit Manubarwala has joined Economic Law Practice (ELP) as an associate partner in the corporate and commercial group.
The qualified Bombay solicitor became a partner at Wadia Ghandy in 2012, having joined the firm in 2005 from Crawford Bayley & Co, where he began his career in 1999 as a trainee while at GLC Mumbai.
He specialises in joint ventures, M&A, private equity, IP and competition law, according to an ELP press release.
Wadia Ghandy managing partner Ashish Ahuja commented via email: “Apart from being a good lawyer, Amit was also the cricket captain for our team. Next year we anticipate an even tougher final with ELP in the ELP cup, but we will still win.”
“On his career, we would like to wish him all the best,” he added.
Last month, Wadia Ghandy partner Gaurav Singhi had joined J Sagar Associates (JSA).

Shaabash Kian!
Talk about basking in past glory...
Il play you 1 vs 7 and still beat you.
On a related note - 4 partners have left Wadia Ghandy since the start of FY 13. No point really in even trying to count the number of associates that have left since then. 2 other partners are also somewhat on their way out (albeit less publicly). Its about time that Ashish and Wadia Ghandy worry less about their cricket team and more about what's really going on in a firm that is otherwise known to have minute or no attrition problems.
Obviously Kian doesn't want to give us any news. Lit firms and GLC find no place in the grand scheme of LI!
Kian-Since Litigation is the IN thing (as one of your previous articles/news update mentioned), you might want to report on some matters. Law and Legal India (and therefore Legally India) is not and should not be ONLY about the latest commercial deals, the smattering of SC matters which are quoteworthy and which partner with super credentials left which fancy corp firm to join another fancy corp firm or to start up his/her own fancy corp firm or to get married or to write a book or whatever. There is SO MUCH happening in the Hon'ble Bombay High Court right now for instance. Please visit CR Nos. 16B, 20,37 & 52 to name a few and you will know. Get out of your silly little bubble.
