TMT Law Practice opened its sixth and seventh national offices in Ahmedabad and Mysore, after merging with the practice of advocate Apurva Dave in Ahmedabad and assigning Bangalore partner Ashok GV the additional role of business development in Mysore.
The Ahmedabad office is headed by Dave as partner, and having three other lawyers who were part of Dave’s independent practice. It acts for, mainly, the industry for components used in the defence sector.
The Mysore office, which is primarily for business development, and managed by Bangalore partner Ashok GV frequenting between Bangalore and Mysore, is seeing a lot of start up activity, some work in the entertainment sector and some work with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) said TMT Delhi-based managing partner Abhishek Malhotra.
Malhotra commented: “The focus is that rather than having a gargantuan office with a 100 people in one place, we’d rather spread it out over a larger territory. [The firm] gains the advantage of, [one], still being able to give partner time or senior person time to clientele, and at the same time if the client does have a matter in another city then you have the confidence that it’ll not be just any associate handling it but a senior person.”
TMT, which had started in Delhi, recently opened offices in Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Bhuvaneshwar. Malhotra said that while there was a partner in Bangalore and Chennai, Kolkata and Bhuvaneshwar was not headed by partners but had lawyers seated and working in those offices.
