Titus & Co has hired two associates and re-hired an associate after completing an LLM degree abroad.

Raghav Handa has recently rejoined Titus after completing his LLM course in 2009 from Fordham University School of Law, New York.

Praveen Nagar has joined Titus's intellectual property (IP) rights and dispute resolution team from J. S. Nagar Advocates in the middle of this year after completing an LLM at the University of Manchester in the UK.

Manav Ujla had worked as an associate at Amardeep Singh & Associates and joined Titus' corporate commercial team after completing an LLM at the University of Sheffield this year.

Nagar is a part of the intellectual property rights and dispute resolution team led by Rai S. Mittal and Suhail Dutt respectively. Ujla works under Mittal too who doubles as the head of the corporate commercial practice of the firm.

Managing partner Diljeet Titus said it was important to match the competence of foreign law firms. "Since a large portion of our work comes from international clients, we constantly strive to keep our management practices at par with counterparts abroad.

"Associates with exposure to international legal environment are preferred because the quality of their work differentiates them advantageously and takes care of cultural sensitivities of our foreign clients."

Commenting on the usefulness of a foreign degree Nagar said: "A specialized training in a certain area of law will always help but it does not guarantee a job without going through the mandatory stages of interview selection, which in turn is a grueling process."

Handa agreed: "It is the individual competence of the candidate along with the understanding and application of law that counts ultimately.”

Titus & Co. Advocates was formed in 1996. It has nine partners and 40 associates. Headquartered in New Delhi, the firm has seven associate offices across India.
