Mumbai solicitors firm Crawford Bayley has created a new associate partner non-equity rung with six senior associates having been elevated to the new position, following the last partnership promotion round at the firm 10 years ago.
Six senior associates became associate partners at the firm with effect from 12 July, according to a statement from the firm.
New associate partners Vinayak Vengurlekar, Sameer Chitnis and Abhay Jadeja specialise in litigation.
Shefali R. Shah focuses on pharmaceutical, FMCG and chemical industries corporate work, as well as intellectual property and competition work.
Krishna Venkat handles corporate and M&A, restructurings and foreign investment and exchange-related work.
Preety Singh focuses on corporate and M&A work, as well as competition law.
The last round of equity partner promotions at Crawford Bayley was in 2001.
Fellow Mumbai solicitors firm Mulla & Mulla had promoted three solicitors into its equity partnership in 2009, while solicitors firm Wadia Ghandy elevated three senior associates to partner in 2010.
Economic Laws Practice (ELP) also created an associate partner rung promoting five into the position in 2010.
