Naik & Naik’s equity partnership grew to five with the promotion of salaried partner Ravi Suryawanshi to equity, in its technology, media and telecommunication (TMT) practice.

The firm also hired Khaitan Legal Associates co-founding partner Radhika Iyer as an associate partner in its corporate practice. Iyer left Khaitan Legal in October 2015.

Suryawanshi is an ILS Pune 2005 alumnus who was made salaried partner at Naik in 2012, as then reported by Legally India.

Iyer was a senior associate at Clasis Law before co-founding Khaitan Legal with Clasis co-founding partner Sakate Khaitan and two other Clasis senior associates. She also had stints with ALMT Legal and Crawford Bayley before Clasis.

Khaitan commented: “Radhika moved on for personal reasons - she is and will be close and will always wish the very best for her. Additionally in my view she will be a great asset to Naik & Naik.”

Naik founder and managing partner Ameet Naik commented in an email: “Today our Firm is recognised as the one of the leading law firms of India because of the innumerable efforts my team makes to service our clients. I take pride in having some of the best talent on-board. I congratulate Ravi on his achievement and extend a great welcome to Radhika.”

The firm now has five equity partners including Naik, and two associate partners including Iyer.

"One of the leading law firms in India" - wow, self inflated sense of self, much? Literally, outside TMT what does this firm even do?

In all fairness, they are pretty market leading in media law, no? Half of Bollywood goes to them for litigation matters it seems...

It is a good TMT firm, sure with ~28ish people in that team. But really, a leading Indian Law firm. Okay maybe we don't have firms with the pedigree of a Cravath, Slaughter or the Magic Circle but to put Naik in the same league of "leading Indian firms" like Tier 1 a SAM, CAM, AZB, Luthra, Trilegal, JSA; Tier 2 -ELP, LKS, NDA, DSK etc., or even boutiques like Bharucha, S&R, Phoenix, Platinum, TTA etc. would be terribly misleading and doing these firms a great disservice

It would be correct to say that they are market leaders in Mumbai atleast when it comes to media law.
Those appearances by Ameet Naik on tv debates also help a lot!

@Lol - you missed adding KCO's name in the list. I presume it will be in Tier 1.
