Lall & Sethi makes partner out of Luthra associate

A senior associate has rejoined Lall & Sethi Advocates as partner after a two-year stint at Luthra & Luthra.

Ashish Prasad started as an associate with specialist IP firm Lall & Sethi in 2003 and worked there for four years before joining Luthra & Luthra as a senior associate in 2007.

He has now rejoined his previous firm as a partner.

Lall & Sethi managing partner Chander M Lall said: "As compared to a full service law firm, a boutique IPR firm like ours is better equipped to provide customised solutions to clients seeking protection of their intellectual property."

"Unfortunately, we lost some good people in the past," he added, "and it is hoped that Ashish's arrival sets an example for others to emulate as we aim to grow in leaps and bounds."

Prasad, who joined the firm as a partner on 1 September 2009, said: "My training as a specialised IPR attorney at Lall & Sethi imparted the right skills, which were further enhanced while working for Luthra. I now aspire to take Lall & Sethi to the next level."

Lall & Sethi is a Delhi-based law firm with branch offices in Nepal and Sri Lanka.

The firm was founded in 1998. It has two partners and 16 associates.

Luthra & Luthra founder and senior partner Rajiv Luthra said that he wished Prasad well in his move.

Luthra & Luthra senior associate Kapil Arora also recently left the firm to take partnership at Bangalore-headquartered Universal Legal to head up its Delhi office.
