Dua Associates has reabsorbed its former fee earner R Ganesh, in its Chennai office as partner in the firm, after Dua’s Chennai partner Aarthi Narayanan left to join Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.
Ganesh, who was held a designation senior to Narayanan in the firm before he left in 2013 to practice independently, rejoined on 1 September 2016 said Dua managing partner Ranji Dua.
Dua has also added experienced litigator SR Krishna Kumar as a litigation partner in Bangalore, on 1 August 2016. Kumar has a litigation experience of 24 years and “good standing in the profession”, said Dua.
The firm also saw growth this year in Mumbai, Chandigarh and Delhi, as reported earlier.

"Narayanan had left for SAM with three other fee-earners from Dua, leaving Chennai’s headcount at five including partner Anand Bhushan. This has now increased to six with the addition of Ganesh."
Presently, the headcount of Partners at Dua Chennai is five including Mr. Ganesan. His name is Ganesan and not Ganesh.
And, kindly stand corrected as to Aarthi left for SAM with one fee earner and not three from Dua Chennai.
The above statements are entirely false and baseless
Thank you for your comment. The figures on Chennai's headcount are from our previous story (on Aarthi's exit to SAM). Could you please explain how they are incorrect?
The spelling of Mr Ganesha's name is as provided to us by Dua Associates.
Best wishes,
Prachi
Your previous story on Ms. Aarthi's exit from DUA Chennai to join SAM Chennai reads "She has joined with three other fee-earners, bringing the total headcount of the office to five, including partner Anand Bhushan who joined from Cognizant Technology Solutions where he was general counsel for the APAC region."
From a reading of this paragraph, we understand that Aarthi left DUA Chennai to join SAM Chennai which in turn lead to the increase in SAM Chennai's headcount to five (as per your story).
On the other hand, your present story on Mr. Ganesan rejoining DUA Chennai reads "Narayanan had left for SAM with three other fee-earners from Dua, leaving Chennai’s headcount at five including partner Anand Bhushan. This has now increased to six with the addition of Ganesh."
From a reading of this paragraph, we understand that Aarthi left to SAM Chennai with 3 other fee earners from DUA Chennai which is wrong since she actually left the firm with one fee earner only.
And, her exit from DUA Chennai resulted in the headcount of the partners at DUA Chennai reducing to four which was increased to five after Mr. Ganesan's re-entry into the firm in September, 2016. Apart from the partners, there are other fee earners too.
Hope this clarifies.
Thank you for your comment, have fixed that part of the story.
Best wishes,
Prachi
