Desai & Diwanji has promoted five associate partners to salaried partner level in the National Capital Region (NCR) following the recent loss of its office head and up to eight associates in Delhi.
Legal website Bar & Bench today reported the promotion of litigation head Aslam Ahmed, who is based in Delhi, as well as four corporate lawyers based in Gurgaon: Joebin Devassy, Rachna Jain, Raghav Mathur and Madhavan Srivatsan.
Delhi University (DU) 2002-graduate Devassy, who also works part-time as a radio jockey on AIR fm Rainbow according to his Linked-in profile, had joined in 2010 from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Mathur joined in 2009 from Irish firm Arthur Cox, and Ahmed, Jain and Srivatsan had been with the firm since 2003.
It is understood that the promotions were announced shortly after the departure of Desai & Diwanji’s Delhi office founder and corporate partner Amit Khansaheb, who left the firm last week to join BMR Legal - the law firm of consultancy firm BMR Advisors.
Up to eight Desai & Diwanji associates, are said to be joining him according to several sources close to the firm.
Desai & Diwanji Mumbai partner Vishwang Desai did not return a call for comment at the time of going to press.
