Kapil Sapra & Associates (KSA) has started an office in Bangalore, transferring two lawyers from its head office in Delhi to the city.
KSA senior associate Neha Madan said that a lot of existing clients had requested the firm to open up locally in Bangalore, which is why corporate senior associate Pankaj Sharma and litigation associate Prashant Kumar were transferred to the new office in the Frazer Town area of Bangalore.
The firm's founder, Kapil Dev Sapra would spend time in Delhi and in Bangalore, managing both offices.
Madan explained that current clients in Bangalore were in the IT, real estate, pharmaceutical and telecommunications space. “The idea is not to be very sector specific - like any corporate commercial firm we do work across sectors including pharma and healthcare, TMT, manufacturing and services.”
The 2001-established firm now has a headcount of 14 lawyers, including partners Vikas Dutta, who specialises in litigation, and Maninder Singh, who heads up the corporate and secretarial teams.
Madan said that the firm planned to grow all offices and open new offices once the Bangalore expansion had settled down.
Sapra’s wife Monika Sapra runs a firm of chartered accountants, Monika K Sapra & Associates, which works out of the same office in Saket and is closely associated with the law firm.
